A nova legisla\u00e7\u00e3o, conhecida como <\/span><\/span><strong><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">SB 1053<\/span><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">, fecha a \u00faltima brecha existente na lei de 2014, que havia banido apenas as <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">sacos<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"> fin<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">o<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">s, mas permitia a distribui\u00e7\u00e3o de modelos mais espessos \u2014 que, na pr\u00e1tica, acabaram por aumentar o volume de res\u00edduos em vez de o reduzir.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Segundo dados da CalRecycle, o desperd\u00edcio de sacos de pl\u00e1stico aumentou <\/span><\/span><strong><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">47%<\/span><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"> entre 2014 e 2022, apesar da proibi\u00e7\u00e3o inicial, devido ao uso massivo das vers\u00f5es mais grossas, dif\u00edceis de reciclar e raramente reutilizadas.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"western\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">O que muda com a nova lei<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">A partir de 2026:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Nenhum <\/span><\/span><\/strong><strong><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">saco ou sacola<\/span><\/span><\/strong><strong><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"> pl\u00e1stica poder\u00e1 ser distribu\u00edda<\/span><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">, independentemente da espessura ou da designa\u00e7\u00e3o \u201creutiliz\u00e1vel\u201d.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">As lojas passam a oferecer apenas <\/span><\/span><strong><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">sacos de papel reciclado<\/span><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"> ou a incentivar o uso de sacolas trazidas pelos pr\u00f3prios clientes.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">A medida aplica\u2011se a supermercados, farm\u00e1cias, lojas de conveni\u00eancia e outros pontos de venda em todo o estado.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"western\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Objetivo: combater a polui\u00e7\u00e3o e os micropl\u00e1sticos<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">A legisla\u00e7\u00e3o pretende reduzir a polui\u00e7\u00e3o marinha e a contamina\u00e7\u00e3o por micropl\u00e1sticos, que continuam a afetar praias, rios e ecossistemas costeiros. Autoridades e organiza\u00e7\u00f5es ambientais alertam que os sacos pl\u00e1sticos, mesmo os mais espessos, raramente s\u00e3o reciclados e frequentemente acabam no ambiente, onde podem ser ingeridos por animais ou fragmentar\u2011se em part\u00edculas microsc\u00f3picas prejudiciais \u00e0 sa\u00fade p\u00fablica.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"western\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Contexto e impacto<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">A Calif\u00f3rnia foi pioneira na proibi\u00e7\u00e3o de sacolas finas h\u00e1 uma d\u00e9cada, mas estudos demonstraram que a medida n\u00e3o reduziu o volume total de res\u00edduos pl\u00e1sticos, levando o estado a adotar uma abordagem mais rigorosa.
